Okay. Here's the thing. We moved to a new house. By "new" I mean built in the late 90's. By "built in the late 90's" I mean outdated finishes and surfaces. I am trying to focus on the parts of my home that I love while waiting oh so patiently to change one fixture or finish at a time. I see it as an opportunity to blog about the changes as we make them! Can I get an, "Amen?"
Amen.
No worries. All this patient waiting hasn't stopped me from decorating....

ReplyDeleteYou have a gorgeous home I really like all the finishing touches you've added like vases and lamps that's what makes it homely :)
ReplyDeleteVery Pretty! I especially like your daughters room- sweet and simple. Thanks for the tour!
ReplyDeleteWe just moved into a smaller home that has a lot of out dated space, we have 2 kids and toys....I am curious what others do to keep their homes clutter free- I have a goal this year to make my space useable, neat and tidy.... I love your laundry room, that is one of my first projects.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I plan on some future posts on organizing clutter (specifically those space-consuming toys)! I have plans to turn one of Miss L's closets into an organized space with shelves, hooks, and labeled tubs to organize her toys. I am also currently looking for a nice-looking, large basket to keep some of her toys in the living room contained. I have included a link to one of my posts about organizing her toys, it includes free printable labels! Stay tuned!

What paint color did you use in the kitchen? I love how you "modernized" the cabinets w/o painting them. Gorgeous. I can't wait to see your island painted!
ReplyDeleteThank you! :) The paint color of the entire front of the house (including kitchen) is Benjamin Moore's "Vapor Trails".
DeleteCame across your blog on Thrifty Decor Chick. Looks like you and I are doing basically the same things. We recently moved into a 1996 split level! Good luck, love what I see!
ReplyDeleteYour home is gorgeous! So pretty & well put together. Love the soft colors you've chosen throughout. Love your mantle (& the pink elephant!) & you have quite an eye for vignettes/table top decor!

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful home! Can you tell me the name of your grayish paint color in the kitchen and family room? I love it! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThanks Michelle! Benjamin Moore's "Vapor Trails". I am very happy with it! :)
DeleteI love your cute house! Did you paint the door that color or buy it like that. I just moved to a SMALL town in northern indiana from Cleveland. It was a big change:)
ReplyDeleteThanks Riley! The front door color is Dutch Boy's "Frost Glade", but I had them darken it with a few more drops of pigment.
DeleteGreat work making your house a warm and inviting home. It is beautiful and you have a great eye! Where did you find your horizontal striped drapes? I have been looking for these exact drapes for my dining room! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Melissa! I got them at Crate & Barrel. I should probably just write that under the pictures...I get asked that question a lot! :)
